To refer a student to our Centre follow the steps below:
- Phone/email the Head Teacher to check that there's a vacancy.
- Decide with the Learning Support Team if the student is a suitable candidate for the Return to School Centre (RTSC).
- Complete the initial referral package (DOCX 96KB).
- The RTSC Panel will then arrange to meet/conference call, to discuss the referral. If the student is successful, the RTSC Co-ordinator will contact the parent and student to arrange a meeting.
While the student is absent from school, it is necessary for the Deputy and Year Advisor to decide on a suitable Teacher Mentor for the student to aid their return following suspension.
The referring school will get weekly updates regarding the student's attendance and progress.
Parents/carers receive daily text updates regarding application and progress.
If students are referred to the centre, parents or carers will need to sign a parent/carer permission (DOC 97KB) form.
